Joseph Cheaney Sandringham
A very fine (and very rare) pair of single Joseph Cheaney Sandringham monk-strap shoes in beautiful burgundy calf leather from Joseph Cheaney. This pair were made by Cheaney for sale under their premium ‘Kings by Cheaney’ branding. They are in excellent used condition, overall – notwithstanding a little creasing across the vamps and the odd surface mark here and there (see photos). This pair have been professionally fitted with brand new ‘Dainite’ rubber soles and are unworn since then. This is a very rare design to find so you will be very unlucky to meet anyone else wearing the same shoes as you – always a nice feeling, I think.
In my opinion, although modern-day Cheaney shoes are still very desirable, well-made and fashioned from first-class materials, they are not quite as exceptional as those from some years ago. So, if you can find a pair of vintage Cheaney’s in really nice condition then you are probably finding some of the nicest shoes around.
But, please remember, these are not new so do not bid on them if you want a pair of completely unmarked shoes – they will cost considerably more !!
The style is ‘Sandringham’ – beautifully proportioned and featuring silver-coloured buckles.
The width fitting is ‘F’ – which is a ‘standard’ width fitting.
The Joseph Cheaney Sandringham feature brand new ‘Dainite’ rubber soles, calf leather uppers and full leather linings.
